Alcohol vaporizers - new instrument under attack
A new way to ingest alcohol is on the rise and legislators are moving quickly to stop the sale of these machines. The machine vaporizes the alcohol and allows it to be inhaled rather than by swallowing it in liquid form.
The machines are sold by Spirit Partners Inc. and are named “AWOL.” It stands for “Alcohol Without Liquid.” Single units and multiple user units are available.
Opponents say that the sole purpose is to get drunk and it is very dangerous. The manufacturer argues that it is no more dangerous than drinking and is just a different way to enjoy alcohol. Ohio has already banned them.
